Introduction to Virgin
Dear Fiona
It was a pleasure to talk with you, please find attached SIENNA’s Executive Summary, Financial Analysis and supporting documents.
Making an executive summary for such a vast concept allows only room to merely mention concepts, marketing plans and advanced software programming.
In depth analysis of every part of the Executive summary is being prepared in my business plan. This plan started its life on August 2nd 2008.
The contents page illustrates the various parts of SIENNA’s development. The bracketed percentage sign lets you know how close to completion each section is. It’s an evolving plan, it will continuingly expand, hence for me to make a stand alone presentation is hard.
I’d sooner develop the business plan with you and VIRGIN SA for presentation to VIRGIN COURPERATE who I presume will be supplying the funding.
My favourite quote “All this has happened before and all this will happen again” Most apt in this case. Over the last 11 years we have using all my companies profit to research ideas and development, near every concept included in the Executive Summary has seen substantial research.
In support of this I have included the attachment, “Evolution of SIENNA” which I think helps to clarify our path. You can’t go forward if you do not know where you have come from.
It’s a long weekend, after which you will probably want to consult a financial expert to consider the financials. Once

Dear .....
Read trough the contents and let me know which parts you are most interested to know more about.

Its an awfull lot of idea to put in to an executive summary, i have attached the Evolution Of Sienna which tells the story how many of the ideas were consieved and gives
To undersand the future you need to undersand the past

Virgin “got a big idea?”  & VIRGIN SA
Please read trough my executive summary, financials and supporting data. We have lots to discuss and I need a lot of support from you.

My initial presentation spans 4 VIRGIN COMPANIES and them requires integration into just about every other one, hence direct communication with Virgin cooperate UK is essential.

Whist born in England I live in Cape Town now and as such it is most likely that the project be based in Cape Town. Hence VIRGIN SA will most likely take a managerial role.

I have sent this proposal to both parties at the same time to illustrate my by partisan position.
A further copy has been sent to Sir Richard care of Louise at Ulusaba.

Dear Gillian,
I have a software marketing idea that has been designed for VIRGIN’s new business ideas committee “BIG IDEAS”. We know Vanessa from Ulusaba and asked her advice; she suggested I send it to you instead so please have a read through and let me know what you think.

I’m preparing a 18 page or so prospectus. The executive summary explains the what; my prospectus explains the how, in great detail. I hope to have this ready by next Friday.
Please let me know your thoughts?

I‘ve just about completed a software proposal called SIENNA that has been eleven years in the making. For the last 4 years it been specifically designed to fit with VIRGIN.

Since reading about the Virgin new business ideas committee in Sir Richards book a few years back, this was the path I have been preparing for.  Whilst the initial concept is based on tourism Sienna also needs to interact with VIRGIN MONEY and other companies. Hence initially thinking to contact “BIG IDEAS”, not VIRGIN HOLIDAYS.

One of my companies Experience Africa has worked with Ulusaba a few times so we asked our friend Louise for the ” contact details, she suggested I contact you instead. Since then have seen the BIG IDEAS webpage.

Having been set on the big IDEAS route for many years and always thinking of Sienna a separate company in the Virgin Group, as opposed to a Sub company to VIRGIN HOLIDAYS or VIRGIN SA I was a little hesitant, but having thought it trough , I see a lot of credit in letting VIRGIN SA see my proposal. The proposal asks for VIRGIN to supply management and run much of the business. Seeing as whilst I will move back to London if necessary my home has been Cape Town for 11 years and I’d prefer it to stay this way.

It goes to pass that if my idea is approved (and it’s a big one) that core staff members will probably come from the current VIRGIN SA team.

I have a completed an Executive Summary, a Financial Spreadsheet, a Key to said spread sheet, an evolution of Sienna document and a couple of diagrams for you to look at. I am putting the finishing touches to an Acrobat booklet that offers more details which I hope to be ready in a week, but it may take longer; it’s a constantly evolving concept.

I hope when you read through my presentation you like I are excited. The facts are checked and the math is sound as will be reinforced in the full presentation.

If you do like it and believe in it then some encouragement would be gratefully received. Some guidance appreciated. If you have some management and development ideas or questions, can offer a more direct path to getting this proposal to the top other than the “BIG IDEAS”  address, or just want to say hi, that would be great and if someone wants to champion the cause and has a plan wow, that would be awesome.

What do I want/need?
Immediately I need about R400,000 to balance the Cape Villas books, 2010’s investment in to the financial department, customer service and Experience Africa , combined with a poor world cup and season has left us in the red. Profit has been made every month for nearly a year but we are still a little short.

My detaching myself near completely from Cape Villas to work on this proposal has not helped either.

So to ease the pressure on me so I can solely concentrate on VIRGIN. I could do with R400,000 asap.

You can call it a sign of good will and you can say if we don’t sign with you and we sign with someone else then it needs to be paid back tenfold, whatever makes it happen.

What do I want?

Well Cape Villas could do with about £35,000 pretty much strait away. It’s coming into low season and the troops have been without me for a long time. This money will mean I can fully attend to Virgin without concerns.

Other than that more than anything else I want enthusiasm, and speedy progression.

I know the money’s going to come very soon, so I’m not asking for any advances, although a charity donation in my name would be a nice gesture.

It would be nice to have a VIRGIN representative assigned to working with me.

Meeting Sir Richard would be a privilege.

But more than anything I just want to get going.
